Student Teaching

Wow, I can't believe after 4 years I am finally writing about this! I am going to graduate, but before I can graduate I had to go through the Elementary Education program at Utah Valley University which involved many hours working in the schools. Well my final student teaching experience has come to an end and I can't believe how fast the time flew! I was placed with the most amazing mentor teacher and the most amazing class a student teacher could ask for. I learned so much and am so grateful for the experience. This experience has made me even more excited about becoming a teacher. There were definitely challenging times, and I believe that being a teacher is one of the hardest, most time consuming profession there is, but at the same time the most rewarding profession on the planet. I was so sad to have to leave this cute fourth grade class, but look forward to having a class of my own hopefully in the near future.

6th month anniversary

Well for our 6th month anniversary we were going to keep it rather simple with dinner and a movie. After dinner, Jake decided we needed something special to remember our 6th month anniversary by. His brilliant idea was to go get a fish at Petco... Well we didn't end up getting a fish, what did we walk out with? I'll let the pictures do the explaining. Happy 6th month anniversary to me.

See you in 2!

On February 27th we said goodbye to Elder Britton Green when he left to serve the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint on a two year mission in Baltimore, Maryland! We will miss him so much but know that he has made the right decision to serve a mission, and are so proud of him. His last days were so fun. We will mostly miss playing clue into all hours of the night, watching the office together, and most of all just chilling in our kitchen and laughing for hours! We are proud of you Brit! See you in 2.

Happy New Years 2013

Can't believe it's 2013. We were so lucky to be able to spend New Years Eve with our closest friends. We got hotel rooms in Salt Lake, went to Cheese Cake Factory for dinner, and then had a minute to win it competition! Such a fun night, and such a great way to start off our New Year!

We won first place in the competition!!!

Happy 2013!

Idaho Weekend

After our Christmas festivities we decided it would be a good idea to head up to Idaho and put some use to the gun Jake got for Christmas. We love visiting Grandma and Grandpa Stayner on the farm in Malad, Idaho and getting to shoot the guns it always a big perk.

Our First Christmas

This year Jake and I were able to spend our first Christmas together married! It was such a fun time! We got a little carried away with Christmas Spirit. Jake spoiled me big time, and the big gift I got him was one I am proud of. First Christmas's tend to have funny stories to go a long with them...well we did not escape the first Christmas funny story that I fear will be told for a long time in the Green home. My plan to get Jake his most favorite gift ever was going well. I planned to get Jake a gun. I knew he was wanting one, so I thought it would be the perfect surprise. I made sure to be overly sneaky about it all in order to keep his gun a huge surprise for Christmas morning. Unfortunately my inability to keep my mouth shut gets me in trouble again. We were having a casual conversation one night, talking about the amount of money we had spent on Christmas presents. I had been talking to one of my friends, who was also newly married about how much they were giving themselves to spend on Christmas. While I was telling Jake about this conversation with my friend, he asked me, "well did you tell her how much we were planning on spending?" I answered, "Well I told her how much the gun was so she knows we are spending more than that..."According to Jake's account on the matter my face dropped and then turned into a a smile as a said "SURPRISE!" and then I began crying. I totally blew the surprise and was devastated. I cried for about 20 minutes as Jake tried to comfort me and told me he was so surprised and so happy. He made me feel a lot better about the situation, but still had to tell everyone we knew how I accidentally blew the surprise. Our first Christmas was still wonderful and full of fun times, despite my inability to keep Jake's present a secret.

Spending time with family is always the highlight of the Christmas season. We are so excited for the many traditions we are starting as our little family, and get to be apart of with our extended families.

With Christmas comes Christmas Break!!! Loved going skiing with my brother Jake and my dad!

The Hammond Cabin

We are so lucky to have great family to spend our time with! We are also so grateful for Grandpa Roy, and Grandma Glenda's cabin. We have enjoyed so many fun times up at the cabin. We love going to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, and spending time with the cute Shumway cousins! This was such a fun weekend, it would be a shame not to share a few pictures!

Domincan Republic Septemeber 2013

After the honeymoon, life got busy as we started back into school and work. Although school and work had begun, we had the opportunity to have a second honeymoon experience in the Dominican Republic. Jake's Grandpa Roy is a retired dentist who started up an organization called Smiles For Hope. Throughout the year Dentists from all over the Country volunteer to travel to the Dominican Republic to perform dental work. Thanks to Jake's Grandpa Roy and Grandma Glenda, we were invited to join this amazing group in helping make a difference in peoples lives. It was such an amazing opportunity that Jake and I were able to experience as newly weds. It was a trip of a lifetime and one we will never forget!

Here we stand at one of Columbus's houses in the Dominican Republic.
